This book follows the journeys of five characters, each with an important self-development lesson to learn. William Worrier is a boy who starts with a big black cloud over his head because he worries so much. As he learns to focus on the positive aspects of his life, his black cloud shrinks. Eddie Envy is always wanting what others have and begins with big green eyes. But as he learns to turn envy into inspiration, his green eyes gradually grow smaller. Lily is a girl who just wants to be liked, starting off with a small heart because she doesn’t really like herself. She constantly changes her behavior to fit in, but when she realizes this doesn’t work, she learns to be herself, and her heart grows as she learns to love who she is. Harry Unhappy begins by wanting what others have, but as he learns to appreciate what he already has, his sad lines start to fade. Finally, Nora Negative has deep frown lines, but they begin to shrink when she meets someone who helps her see the good in her life.
