Quick answers about registration, verification, and profile claims

These answers cover the questions users are most likely to hit during account creation, email verification, and author or publisher claim workflows.

Registration

Common account questions

Why am I being asked to verify my email?

BIAN uses email verification to reduce fake accounts, support account recovery, and make profile claim requests traceable.

I signed up but did not receive an email.

Check spam or junk folders first. If the email still does not appear, sign in again with the same account and BIAN can resend the verification step.

Can I create another account with the same email?

No. If an account already exists for that email address, use sign in instead of registering again.

What makes a strong password?

Use at least 12 characters. A long passphrase is best, or use a mix of upper, lower, numbers, and symbols.

Claims and review

Questions about author and publisher claims

Does clicking claim link me instantly?

No. BIAN may require verification and manual review before a profile claim is approved.

What if more than one person claims the same profile?

BIAN may keep requests pending during review and resolve them based on evidence, role, and administrative review.

Can enterprise access be activated immediately?

Enterprise access may require both email verification and manual approval by BIAN staff.

Support

How to get help

How do I report a wrong profile or incorrect data?

Use the available correction or support channels and include enough context for the team to verify the request.

How do I ask for account deletion or a privacy review?

Use the support contact page and explain the request. BIAN may ask for account verification before making changes.
