كَانَ كَتْكُوتٌ فِي أَحْسَنِ حَالٍ في دَاخِلِ بَيْضَتِهِ. وَكَانَتِ الْأَصْوَاتُ تَصِلُهُ نَاعِمَةً، لَطِيفَةً. وَعِنْدَمَا كَانَ يَفْتَحُ عَينَيْهِ صَبَاحًا، كَانَتْ قِشْرَةُ الْبَيْضَةِ تَبْدُو لَهُ ذَاتَ لَوْنٍ وَرْدِيٍّ رَقِيقٍ فَاتِحٍ. وَفِي الْمَسَاءِ حِينَ كَانَ يَخْلُدُ إِلَى النَّوْمِ، كَانَ يَحْتَضِنُهُ لَوْنٌ أَزْرَقُ هَادِئٌ وكَثِيفٌ. ما أَجْمَلَ هَذَا الدِّفْءَ فِي دَاخِلِ الْبَيْضَةِ!
